Resipi for Sosis Solo & Selat Solo(Traditional Indonesian Dishes)

Here's some simple recipe that I've picked up along the way during my trip in indonesia. 
We went for cooking classes and learnt how to make some classic Javanese food in Solo and the best part that I love about this particular cooking class is that it all takes less than an hour to prepare! (haha lazy me🙈)

Sosis Solo (The one below)
Skin :
Garlic 1
Flour 100 gr
Egg 1
Or you can change with Dumpling Skin but still use an egg for glue and dye.
Stuffing :
Chicken 150 gr
Garlic (choop) 1 
Pinch of salt & pepper. 
Coconut Milk 50 ml
Olive Oil / Vegetable Oil

1)(For the skin)Put egg, flour, onion, then stir until the consistency is thick, then insert it into a fryer like crepes dough. 
2) (For the filling)Heat the oil, put onion, chicken, salt, pepper until cooked, then enter the coconut milk, cook for a while, and finish.

3) Lay out filling on the skin, roll it, brush some eggs on the tip of the skin to secure it, egg wash the entire sosis and then deep fry it. 
And your homemade Sosis Solo is done.

Selat Solo (The one on top)
  • Carrot 
  • Potato 
  • Lettuce 
  • Egg 
  • Ham / Bacon / Patty or Meat Ball
  • Mayonnaise for dressing only if you like 
Sauce :
  • Margarine 2 tbs
  • Pepper bit of it
  • Salt bit of it
  • Sugar 1 spoon
  • Nutmeg bit of it
  • Clove 2
  • Onion (chopped) 1
  • Garlic (chopped) 1
  • Soy Sauce 150 ml
  • Water 250 ml

1) Boil all vege(exclude lettuce), egg, 
2) Add a tbs of oil and fry the meat separately.
3) Heat up a tbsp of margarine, add in onion, garlic, nutmeg, clove, water, pepper, salt, sugar, soy sauce, stir fry for another five minutes. 
4)Mix veggie, egg, meat in plate or bowl, add sauce on it, and a bit of mayonnaise.

 The final touch of Selat Solo- Adding the sweet sauce.
