Jamaica Blue @ Lowyat plaza, KL

An Australian franchise brand which aims to serve you authentic Australian style food incorporating a diverse range of high quality dishes using fresh and premium ingredients and made daily on the premises. Pros of having Jamaica blue is that it is now close to you which doesn't require you to stress about spending your money on a flight to Australia and this is as close as you can get to having meals like the Aussies.

Their house blend and single origin coffee all the way from Jamaica is one not to miss as well.

Their house blend is well extracted and perfectly frothed and poured with really adorable latte art.
A sip of my cuppa latte (RM11.50) and I was over the moon. It was perfect for a mild coffee drinker like me as I love it a little less acidic and has a tad bit of a chocolatey and nutty flavour in it.

However, if you aim to have a coffee which body is a bit more stronger, bolder and acidic,do order their single origin long black. That will definitely give u a bit of a kick anytime of the day.

Before you start going, oh this is just another brunch place.

Please do not doubt the outlook of the establishment as I personally really am impressed with the food and drink selections here.
This would most likely be a go to place for breakfast, lunch or maybe even dinner as portions are well worth and I personally would pay for food that taste good and has a lot of thoughts and effort put into it.

House made potato cakes with smoked salmon and hollandaise (RM12.90).  Having just my first bite of this and I could assure you  my tastebuds were definitely extremely delighted. The flavours of the smoke salmon and hollandaise is already a match made in heaven and it compliments each other so well. The additional natural sweetness from the caramelised onions and that extra soft and a tad bit of chewy texture from the potato really lifted up the whole context of the dish. A savoury dish which is reasonably priced and definitely worth every penny in my opinion.

Thai chicken noodle salad( RM 11.90). A refreshing healthy combination of fresh and crunchy capsicums and greens, blanched baby bok choy, cashews and an Asian-style dressing served over a generous portion of rice vermicelli. A well balanced meal for those who savour the feeling of a light yet satisfying meal.

Sourdough crumpets with hazelnut chocolate and mixed berries ( RM17.50).

Who needs pancakes and waffles anymore when there’s crumpets. A griddle cake made from flour and yeast. This was served fresh and hot off the griddle and smothered with luscious hazelnut chocolate and a handful of refreshing berries. A decadent breakfast worth waking up to however do eat it as soon as it gets on your table to obtain maximum satisfaction(texture wise).

Satiate your palate with these sumptuous meals and if you happen to be around the area, they do have happy hour promotion from 5pm-8pm daily too.

  1. Jamaica Blue is a nice coffeehouse to hang out in. While I haven't been to the ones in KL (they never had the chance to open one in my hometown and I've been too lazy to head to Mid Valley), I've visited to the one near my campus. The food choices are pretty good - although they tend to cater for the demographics.

The crumpets looks lovely, btw. =)
