OKONOMI @ Publika, Kuala Lumpur

I have a confession:
I am not a good food blogger, I do not update frequently nor good in describing food, but I'm definitely good in taking photos that speak for itself.

I stumble across Okonomi on Instagram and their Matcha Lava cake was the main reason why I was there.

Azuki Latte . RM7.90

Okonomi is the first Japanese restaurant in KL which allow you to customise your own sushi roll.
They have nori / soy wrap base; brown / white rice; a plethora choices of fillings followed by sauces and toppings.

Okonomi Sushi Large RM29.90

Brown rice, nori, avocado, crabstick, green apple, tamago, topped with sesame sauce and grated parmesan cheese.

Second roll - Soy wrap, white rice, tamago, avocado, baby octopus, topped with tobiko and sesame sauce.

 Third roll -
Seaweed, brown rice, tempura salmon, carrot, topped with garlic chips and wasabi mayo sauce.

Matcha Lava Cake@ RM16.90

Overall, the sushi combination that we had was delicious.
As long as you opt for the ingredients you like , I don't think you will go wrong.
On the other hand, the reason that brought me here, disappoint me.
I found the Matcha Lava cake was achingly sweet and the matcha flavor was so subtle that I could hardly detect it, the ice cream on the side makes this entire dessert even more cloying for me.

Oh well, I'm a sucker for beautifully presented food anyway, I'm locking my gaze on their green tea parfait, hopefully it'll be better the next time I visit.
