'Love is in The Air' Valentine Dinner @ Pullman Bangsar

Last week I was invited for a Valentine tasting menu from Pullman Bangsar as they will be opening their executive lounge for love birds to celebrate Valentines on the 37th floor .

Appetiser :


Salmon/Barrumundi Carpaccio


Caprese Salad .

The Salmon/Barrumundi Carpaccio was undeniably delicious, sprinkled with pine nuts and arugula salad to provide an extra crunch; The Caprese Salad is made of freshly sliced mozzarella, tomatoes and basil, lightly seasoned with salt and generous amount of olive oil. I am never a fan of cheese, hence I would prefer the first appetiser. 



Tomato Gazpucho 



Crab Bisque

The blue cheese aroma from the Tomato Gazpacho hovers around the air while it was being served to us. I can already tell that it was definitely not the kind of food that I will appreciate. However, on the other hand, I quite like the Crab Bisque. 
 Albeit the bisque was slightly on the salty side, the overall taste was ambrosial.
I appreciate how chef plays around with different ingredients to bring out different colours and textures in this dish, but I personally find that the sweet pudding (in white) went sightly off from the yummy spectrum. 




Pan-Seared White Cod

When we both sampled the cod, my date and I ,we both agreed unanimously that this was the most impressive dish that night. Buttery and flaky cod appropriately seasoned with salt, pepper and a generous splash of lobster oil. We also found that the side of golden garlic, shiitake mushroom, ebiko and creamy polenta also complemented the rather simple spinach risotto, too. 




Caramelised Cripsy Roasted Duck Breast

The duck breast meat cooked well-done, I personally do not have any complaints with this but my dining companion prefer it to be medium cooked.  
The mango salsa was covered with minty flavours and it goes very well with the bed of quinoa.






Raspberry Mousse.


To denote a sweet ending, we had the Raspberry Mousse and Triple Chocolate Pleasure.
Creamy and rich dessert temper down with fresh berries. My personally favourite goes to the Dark Chocolate mousse, with a slight bittersweet flavour. 




Once again, thank you Pullman Bangsar for the early Valentine's dinner, I truly enjoyed feasting my eyes on the fanciful set-up in the Lounge and the sparkling cityscape on 37th.
