POKC @ Damansara Uptown

There are three possible parts to a date, of which at least two must be offered: entertainment, food, and affection. It is customary to begin a series of dates with a great deal of entertainment, a moderate amount of food, and the merest suggestion of affection. As the amount of affection increases, the entertainment can be reduced proportionately. When the affection is the entertainment, we no longer call it dating. Under no circumstances can the food be omitted.

I repeat, no food should be omitted.
It was just another typical weekday whereby my friends and I decided to drop by the one-week-old cafe in Damansara Uptown - POKC.
People Of Kheng Chew, the abbreviation stands for. Just a stone throw away from Epicuro .

Iced Americano RM9/ Hitachino Nest White Ale RM25

Coffee bean are sourced from Pulp (If I am not wrong); Hitachino Nest White Ale is a refreshing mildly hopped Belgian styled beer with a complex flavour of coriander, orange peel and nutmeg. This is the top-selling beer in Japan and U.S.
The long black I had was over-extracted that night. Mmm.

Latte &Chocolate.

I couldn't remember the name of the tea, it has a chocolate and nutty aftertaste. No doubt an acquire taste for tea but it wouldn't take long for you to accept it.

Buffalo shooters of Chicken Wings( RM24)

Crunchy deep fried wings and drummet, sprinkled with a pinch of herbs, gracefully served on a shot glass , and it pairs very well with the sweet-savoury BBQ and tabasco sauce. It was very addictive, though the spiciness slowly creeps in the tongue and decided to linger throughout the meal.

Roti babi .

A very local-styled french toast, minced pork sandwiched in soft, fluffy bread, coated in egg then deep-fry it.
The minced pork was very well seasoned and juicy. Surprisingly it was not oily as I thought it should be, I guess the cabbage at the bottom has done its job well by acting as a good oil absorbent.

The Chicken Cordon Bleu and Chicken Chop both come with sweet potato fries, blanch vege and the same thick gravy. In both dishes, meats was juicy and flavourful, the cheese melded wonderfully with the meat. Both looked and tasted more or less the same to me; only the positioning of the cheese that makes the difference; The gravy tasted 'meh' though, in my very humble opinion.

Lamb Stew.

Such comfort food, I do not mind eating for life.
The lamb was extraordinarily tender and it has got no gamey/ unpleasant taste at all.
Love the very well seasoned gravy too, I swear I would revisit this place and mop up every single drop of the gravy with the most authentic fluffy Hainan bread.

POKC has only operated for a week, so the flaws are definitely forgivable.
I'll probably stop by again for their cakes next round, do follow my cafe hopping journey on Insta, see you there!
