Time Capsule Retreat @ Sungai Lembing, Pahang

Sungai Lembing is a tin mining town 42 km northwest of Kuantan in Pahang, Malaysia. Lembing is Malay for spear, and "sungai" means river. Per local legend, the local ruler saw a vision of a spear in the nearby river and thus named his town after this vision.
Until the 1970s, Sungai Lembing was a major producer of underground tin. Sungai Lembing town developed in the 1880s when the British set up the tin mining industry, although the history of mining in this area extends much further back. From 1891, the Pahang Consolidated Company Limited, (PCCL), which was under British control, had a 77-year lease to mine the area. PCCL managed the mine from 1906 until its liquidation in 1986 when world tin prices collapsed.

My friends and I were in Sg. Lembing last month to catch the Double Rainbow waterfall.
We departed from Kuala Lumpur at 7.30am and finally, after 4 hours car journey, we had reached our destination.

We went there during weekday and unfortunately, we were greeted with a subdued town.
The villagers here are those who embrace a laid-back, easygoing life, the numbers of open stalls and shops can be easily counted with just one glance.
Nonetheless, we still managed to get our tummy filled (but trust me, nothing taste pleasant if you eat the same thing over and over again for breakfast, snack, lunch, dinner and supper). There's nothing special about the food here so I'll just skip. The renown food stalls are all closed during our visit. ;(

After lunch we proceeded to check-in to our unusually unique stay in Time Capsule Retreat.

We spent our time at the mini waterfall for the rest of the day. (Rainbow waterfall in another post : HERE ).
(Photographer should always get credited cause they are always behind the camera. )

My experience on staying in Time Capsule:
A pleasant stay, have clean bed sheet, super cooling air-cond and close to nature. Bathroom are located just a stone-throw away from the capsule. You can even do your own barbecue here, only equipments are provided, foods are not included so you have to prepare on your own.

My advice if you are staying in Time Capsule:
- Bring mosquito repellent
- Bring towel/shampoo/ toothbrush &toothpaste
- Board games
