Lipton Tea Twist Masterclass.

A few weeks ago, I was given an opportunity to attend an Masterclass event hosted by Lipton in conjunction with their new campaign ‘A New Twist to Your Lipton Moment’. I was indeed a lucky person to have met our famous Malaysian celebrity chef, Nik Michael Imran and to watch him in live action to make a few tea drinks. We were able to  it out ourselves too!

Four recipes out of the seven recipes created by Nik were feature at Masterclass- Sunrise, Mo-Tea-To, Lovely Berries and Honey Lemongrass Tea. The best thing about these recipes is that they were all created based on simplicity which means it can be made easily using LIPTON YELLOW LABEL tea bags. Not just that, I personally think that this is definitely a healthier version of thirst-quenching beverage in comparison with the sugar-laden, carbonated fizzy drinks. Taste wise, believe me, they are remarkably pleasant! (continue to scroll for recipes)

The event started off with chef Nik preparing the Tea Crusted Prawn with Mango Avocado Salsa.
I love how creative Chef Nik is. He added some of the tea from the tea bag into the batter to create another new dimension of flavors into the ordinary deep-fry prawn.

Chef carefully diced the mango and avocado into small cubes and mingle them together with the diced tomatoes. He added a squeeze of lime, dash of salt and sugar into the chopped ingredients and mixed them evenly to complete the salsa.

Chef Nik's step to step guide on how to deep fry the prawns by not messing up the kitchen.

''Use your right hand to flour the prawn, so that the flour will adhere to the prawn and the beaten egg will coat onto it. Next use your left hand to transfer the prawn into the bed of breadcrumbs, assert a little pressure on the prawn to make sure the crumbs are attached to the prawn, then using the same hand, slowly place them into the boiling oil. ''
I kid you not, this takes less than 15 minutes to prepare once you got all your ingredients stand-by.

Next was the assemble part whereby Chef gently placed the salsa over the heavily buttered-toast and crowned the prawn atop of the salsa.

There you have it : Tea Crusted Prawn with Mango Avocado Salsa

How lovely is the presentation , isn't it? Being the lucky girl, I was being chosen to sample these little babies created by chef.
The toast was insanely crunch and flavorsome, followed by the sweet and sourish mango salsa and the subtle fragrant of tea leaves from the prawns... What's more I can say? Delectable!

Beginning of December , Lipton introduced Malaysia’s first mobile LIPTON Tea Bar which will travel around the Klang Valley to brighten up your day. The drinks are complimentary throughout December.

The best things is that the mobile tea bar will serve freshly personalised Lipton tea drinks by friendly baristas which was taught in the Masterclass. So those who wonder how those drinks taste like can can one in the Lipton Tea Bar.

If that information isn't enough for you, you can actually find more tea recipes at

Some might recognized these recipes as these recipes had been aired on AFC for six weeks in a tea inspired culinary series called Tea Twist.
