The abundance of old-school colorful classical chairs and the layout of the interior reminded me of a modern day cafe. 'Modern' as in they are trendy  in the early 90's and wow, come to think about it,  its already 20 years back . I've found a place that serves homecook Nyonya food which brings back all the nostalgic memories of the good 'ol days where my grandparents were still alive.

Once I step foot in this humble restaurant, my mind flashes back into the black and white era, where photos are only printed in black and white, pictures are painted in black and white, tv programmes are also showed in black and white .Every single details in Limablas creates a picturesque mental images for me. You will be able to find all kinds of aesthetic accessories in every corner of this place, it also makes a perfect backdrop for photography.

Pie Tee. RM1.50 per piece ; Set Lunch- Nyonya Chicken Curry RM10.

This Pie Tee had an undercurrent of heat and an addictive savory flavor from the turnip and the chili sauce,I really love this tiny upside down hat dish because it was small enough to fit in my mouth in just one bite. Every set lunch menu comes with rice, and side dishes such as omelette and stir-fry cabbage with your selection of meat.

Right - Chicken Pongteh (RM10); left - Ayam Sioh. (RM12 - ala carte)

okay, I gotta admit that I have never tried both famous nyonya dish before , but I can definitely tell how it tasted like. The ayam pongteh has a potent fermented soy bean taste (taucheo), the gravy is thicken due to the breakdown of starch in the potatoes, whereas chicken meat was fall-of-the-bones tender - A very heart-warming dish I would say. A hint of tamarind aroma can be detected in the Chicken Sioh. It was warm and citrusy, sweet and definitely appetizing. Both pairs very well with a bowl of steamy white rice.

Udang Sambal Petai - Stir-fry stinky beans and prawns with chili  RM25

Sambal Terung - Squishy Eggplant( aubergine)  with chili. RM12

Telapia Fried Cili ( Seasonal Price).

All things coated with red hot chili are my favourite. Thumbs up for the eggplant and stinky beans! However, the highlight of the day will be the deep-fry until crispy Telapia. The exterior was remarkably crunchy yet the flesh of the fish remains moist and juicy,I was very impressed with this well-execute dish because it definitely requires more skills than preparing other dishes.
