Artisan Roast HQ @Section 13, Petaling Jaya

I already know that it was going to be a great weekend when I visited the latest( third branch) and the most spacious cafe -Artisan Coffee HQ at PJ last week.
We were there early in the morning before AR was open.

Clear as you can see, this cafe is as big as a factory.

Artisan Roast HQ has a simple yet stunning interior with tall ceiling, which allows sunlight to penetrate through the tall glass window, lighting up the entire room with all the positive charges. The sleek decor is complemented with the wake-me-up coffee aroma hovering in the air. I'd love to stay here forever.

Coffee display for sale.

I was expecting them to serve some finger foods or perhaps some sandwiches , but unfortunately, this place only serves coffee and dessert.

I was not in the mood of having dessert that morning so my friend and I ordered a cup of Mocha and a Red Latte.
My Mocha tasted great, I like the fact that they used cocoa powder instead of chocolate syrup in it. It has a velvety smooth body and every sip was packed with pure cacao flavor .

Their red latte is made with Red Espresso ( Rooibos tea from South Africa) and latte milk .It has a very distinctive tea taste, and the astringency of the tea was balanced off with the fresh milk. It is definitely a good caffeine-free alternative to coffee but still have the same 'pick-me-up' effect.

A slice of carrot cake appeared on the table out of a sudden after I went around and took some photos, and this got me smiling from ear to ear. No, not because I got free food from the friendly staff, it was because of this simple heart-warming action that they took- the act of giving and sharing.

I enjoyed this cake so much, because I savored something beyond the flavor and texture of this cake -friendliness. It was much more enlightening than the cake itself.
Thank you, friendly barista!

They approached us few minutes later and asked how was their drinks,
we replied them the drinks were great of course, but they told us that we have not try their coffee yet and insisted to make another two cups of Flat White for the two of us.
My friend and I keep smiling to each other, thinking that we were blessed with coffee that morning!

We had another cup of vacuum pot brewed coffee after that (yes, the third cup!). My heart pumped a little harder and faster when they sent the brew coffee to our table, was not sure whether was it because of the caffeine or the overwhelmingly fervent services that they gave us.
The brewed coffee tasted sweet and was accompanied by a slight acidic note. To me,  it was a very well executed cup of coffee.

I am so glad because I have the time to document my fondest memory of this place and I wish to have more time because there are still a long list of coffee places to visit!

  11. Wow! I didn't know they have a 3rd branch! :)

I go to their original one at TTDI quite often, back in the days when it opened, it was just the owner and his wife manning the counter. I love their attitude towards great coffee.

  12. This looks very Aussie - an out of the way cafe that you have to know about and travel to get to. The 'cool' crowd ends up in these spots. Love it!
