The Wild Card Entry @ Super GT 2012 Round 3

Come 9 & 10 June 2012, The Sepang F1 circuit will play host to Round 3 of SUPER GT 2012 series, the only race in the SUPER GT calendar held outside of Japan.
The highlight of the event will be the GT 500 and GT 300 races, which will see both categories on the track at the same time. Support races such as the GT Asia and Toyota Vios Cup are set to be a crowd pleaser on race day.
Visitors will also get to experience the Pit Walk, where they will be able to meet their favourite teams, drivers and the GT queens. Before the race, visitors can even do a Grid Walk, to get up close to the cars, drivers, race queens and other celebrities.
A record breaking attempt is also in the books as the organisers set their sights on breaking the previous year’s record for the Largest Gathering of Supercars in the Malaysian Book of Records. The current record stands at 405 cars, and we’re told that number will be much greater this year.
Off the track, there will be motorshow showcasing anything from classic favourites to red hot supercars. For the uninitiated, there will be an Akiba Town to showcase everything Japanese from gadgets, cosplay, food and accessories. It’s truly an event catered with the family in mind – a carnival of speed and fun for all ages.

Not only that, but there may be a grand surprise in store on the track this year! There will be a wild card entry into the grid of SUPER GT! A Malaysian team (Malaysia Drivers, Malaysia Engineers and Malaysia Crew) will enter as a wild card to the race, would that be the Mosler MT900m! In 2009, as an Wild Card Entry the Mosler, Singaporean and a British driver piloted it did amazingly well (leading the race at some point during 2009 SUPER GT Round 4 Malaysia) but sadly due to a power steering they dropped to 13th but it was still the best wild card entry result in SUPER GT.

This year, it will be piloted by our Top Malaysian Driver, Fairuz Fauzy who achieve an wonderful season in A1 GP have come back again to make Malaysian proud by competing against the best GT Drivers in the world in this competitive SUPER GT Series and non other than Hiroki Yoshida. As fellow Malaysians, it would be a tremendous moral support to the Team if we can all just showed up and cheer for the team. As this is reasonably new, leep checking out for more news!
