277 - Tong Pak Fu@ Paradigm Mall(Kelana Jaya)


Tong Pak Fu (糖百府) Hong Kong Dessert is hitting the Malaysian market by storm with Tong Pak Fu’s award winning snow ice series and their best sellers – traditional hot dessert. Just recently, Tong Pak Fu has just opened their seventh branch at The Mines shopping complex. I am sure that many of you who have visited Hong Kong would know that Hongkies love their desserts very much, so much so that some dessert house in Hong Kong opens up to 2am in the morning. Dessert is a serious business in Hong Kong. While other dessert houses like Hui Lau Shan (許留山) and Lucky Dessert (發記甜品) specialises in Mango flavoured desserts and durian desserts and Krisps, Tong Pak Fu specialises in traditional hot desserts, snow ices and western desserts.

Chinese Tong Sui , brimming of sincerity and effort. They are not easy to make with emphasis given on the ingredients and intricate methods. It requires a lot of skills and patience to prepare a bowl of aromatic, smooth 'tong sui' that is not only tasty, but beneficial to our body.

 The Taiwanese refers this dessert as snow ice while the Hong Kong people refer it as fluffy ice or cotton ice.
What sets it apart from the traditional version is the appearance - layers of light and fluffy snow delicately piled up on the plate that melts softly in your mouth, with a delightful cooling sensation.

King Mango Snowy.RM8.8

Mango and Milk Snow Ice @ RM8.80 (regular) are made of imported mangoes from the Philippines served with jellies as toppings. It was good but I preferred the durian version more because first of all, I am a huge durian fan and it has more toppings, taroballs, jellies and some tiny bits of corn flakes.

Anyway, I went all out and indulge!!
Look at the fluffy airy ice !It not only melts in your mouth, but also in the one hiding behind your chest.<3

Guava Snowy

Guava Snowy is one of their special flavor snowy where you couldnt find it somewhere else.
The owner insist on using no artificial ingredient, so the supplies of Guava snowy are seasonal.

Here comes the king of SNOW!!!
Tracka Durian Snowy Ice. RM11.80

Tracka Durian Snow Ice as clearly indicated by its name is made of our very own local Tracka durian. Unlike the Malaysian ice kacang which is made of water and artificial flaor, Tong Pak Fu's snow ice is actually made from the juices which were extracted from the fruits itself , then mixed with imported skimmed milk. The plus factor here is that NO SUGAR was added in this process. How healthy, you see...?

I seriously, almost, lick the bowl to polish the remainder melted-juice..
I was so GOOOOOOD.

After all cold one, here comes the hot one!

Chocolate Lava Cake with Mango Ice cream

Chocolate Lava Cake with Mango Ice-Cream is made of Swiss chocolate. A cut through the cake releases hot “lava” (chocolate liquid) from the cake. The warm chocolate coupled with the cold vanilla ice-cream makes a great combination. Simply delectable.

Now look at that! Just take a look at that and ask yourself, how on earth would you resist this? 
The lava just ooze out and I shovel it immediately into my mouth with some ice cream along, the complexity if the hot and cold sensation,the bittersweet chocolate and melt-in-your mouth ice cream, I was temporary into ecstasies.

Mango Sago with Pomelo.

High quality mango is chosen daily , then squeeze out the juices, blend with mango cubes, sago and pomelo
With all these simple but rich elements, a complex yet smooth sensation is produced. The fellow mate sitting opposite me were so merrily indulging himself with this, and told me this is the one that makes him go back for more... He is deeply in love with this bowl of mango sago when I see him struggled to dig into the bottom of the bowl to scoop the very last drop even, there's hardly any drops left. 
Give it a try and try not to fall in love (because this is the hardest part of having desserts)!

Creme Brulee
This was too rich though. 
I couldnt take much because it was superlatively sweet and creamy ; not enough sugar is torched on top as of the brulee as well. 
Anyway, you can always try it yourself, 
someone's cup of tea might not suit everyone.

Layers and layers of stacked slices of strawberries on sweet cream and thin, crispy waffles. I love strawberries, so the amount of strawberries on this dessert alone already put a smile on my face.
I was informed that the Tong Pak Fu’s pastries chef are trained in a five star hotel in Hong Kong and the reason why Tong Pak Fu was set up in the first place is to make fine dining desserts more affordable to more people. Hence, you can now afford 5-star dessert with affordable price!

Curry fish balls.
Just when you thought the selection is endless, Tong Pak Fu introduces to you light snacks for the nibblers! As simple as it sounds and looks, these curry fish balls are amazing! The aroma of the curry gravy covering the chewy, bouncy fish balls… Mmmmhmmm *lost for words* :)
